We’ve moved….blog hosts!
You can read about us here: www.audgrad.blogspot.com
I was tired of not knowing how to use tumblr and no directions could be found. So we moved. Find us there for future updates!
I love donuts. Not the icky cream/jelly/frosting filled kind. But the good old fashioned cake donut with the thick fudgy frosting. Problem is, as soon as I eat it, it gets plastered to my butt/thighs/chins/and other not so pretty parts. So, a baked donut it is. Opinions anyone?
An amazing dinner! Recipe posted from www.thepioneerwoman.com, a new favorite blog of mine. I love her sense of humor and amazing recipes!
“My Chick Bad” meets “Teach me How to Dougie”
Ok. So I know it’s been a long time since the last post…however….tada! Victoria and Vicente went and got themselves hitched! As we speak, they are on their honeymoon in far off lands, enjoying time as husband and wife.

The festivities for both the bachelorette party and wedding were fantastic. I have never met a group of people that can have so much fun in such a small amount of time!
The bachelorette weekend was spent in Ocean City, NJ at the fabulous May family beach house (thank you for lending it to us!). We spent a lovely night on the boardwalk on Friday, topped off with a day at the beach on Saturday and dinner and dancing at the Borgata in Atlantic city Saturday night. I had a blast!!! (Chinky chinky!)

The wedding day was wonderful. Set in Potomac Point Winery (Stafford, VA), the day was a bit warm but cooler than the days leading up to it. Victoria was stunning in her gown (Vicente rather sharp in his very own tux). Through a couple of SNAFU’s, the night was topped off with copious amounts of food, friendship, and DANCING! (yes Sungho did teach me how to Dougie!).

I can’t believe the wedding happened a week ago tomorrow…where does the time go!?!?
Anywho….that’s it for now. A busy October ahead with birthdays, JMU Homecoming (J M U DUUUUUKES) and possibly a trip to rally on the mall with John Stewart :)
A few pictures from Victoria’s Bridal shower. It was a blast…complete with mangoritas and a chocolate fountain!!!
Congrats Bictorilla ! Love you!
Welcome to Virginia
It’s official! We are now residents of the Commonwealth. After 2 hours at the DMV (with an almost failed eye exam), we walked out with plates and a license to be mailed with I’m sure a horrendous picture. But nevertheless, we made it out relatively unharmed.
One more trip to MD this week to turn our keys to the old apartment in! WOOT!
This past weekend was also Victoria’s Bridal shower. It was a great success. Pictures to come!
J-M-U Duuuuuuuuuuuuuukes
Congrats to JMU!
It makes me totally miss the days of Dhall, H’burg, midnight Walmart runs, studying at B&N, Alethia, Artful Dodger, Dave’s and all things Purple and Gold. Good job Dukes!
The Parting Glass; a new favorite song thanks to my Irish friend Vic :)
Of all the money e’er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm I’ve ever done,
Alas! it was to none but me.
And all I’ve done for want of wit
To mem’ry now I can’t recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Oh, all the comrades e’er I had,
They’re sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts e’er I had,
They’d wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot,
That I should rise and you should not,
I gently rise and softly call,
Good night and joy be with you all.
If I had money enough to spend,
And leisure time to sit awhile,
There is a fair maid in this town,
That sorely has my heart beguiled.
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips,
I own she has my heart in thrall,
Then fill to me the parting glass,
Good night and joy be with you all.
NYC
I’m super excited for tomorrow! I get to travel to NYC with Victoria, her mother, and future sister-in-law to the famous Kleinfelds! It will be Vic’s first fitting for her wedding day that is fast approaching! I can’t wait to see it! Horray weddings!
Cheap
Ok. So you may not know that I am cheap, or as I like to say “frugal.” I am a sucker for a good deal, coupons, and buying things waaaay less than full price.
An example:
A new Harris Teeter has opened up by our new apartment. In order to celebrate, HT sent out coupons; $20 a grocery purchase of $50..one a week for the next four weeks. I thought to myself, why yes, I will buy $50 worth of groceries for $30, thank you very much.
I had some downtime at work Tuesday, so I started looking online at the HT specials. H-O-L-Y C-O-W. They had some FANTASTIC deals! Buy-one get-one (BOGO) on almost all their meats, and huge sales on most of the stuff we buy every week (you had to have their VIC card [free]). Long story short this is what I bought/spent:
yogurt (8 individual + 2 four packs)
watermelon
english muffins (BOGO)
Sirloin (BOGO)
Stew meat (BOGO)
boneless/skinless chicken breasts (11.75 down from 17.50)
block of cheese (on sale)
crackers (on sale)
steak marinade (on sale)
peaches
milk (on sale)
tortillas
salsa
avacados
eggs
bananas
and a few other odds and ends.
When the cashier first rang up my order (without yet swiping my VIC card) the total was $112 and change….one magical swipe and the total became $84 and change! Top that off with my $20 off coupon, and I had over $100 worth of groceries for $54 ish off. Now THAT’S what I call a steal :) I plan to try shopping there for the next four weeks (I’m usually a Wegmans girl) to use up the coupons (why waste $20?). I’m hoping the next three trips are just as successful!
